Monday Morning Around The WIAC


• UW-Platteville and UW-Oshkosh look like they will be strong challengers to UW-Whitewater for the 2011 WIAC title.

• UW-P handed La Crosse its fourth straight loss of the season 17-14 Saturday in Platteville.

• Platteville ranks No. 2 in both scoring defense and rush defense in the WIAC through the first four weeks of the season.

• Platteville travels to Perkins Stadium for Whitewater’s annual Family Day game. The Family Day game has drawn more than 10,000 fans over the past three seasons. Kickoff Saturday is set for 2 p.m.

• The Warhawks are coming off it’s 2011 bye week.

• UW-Oshkosh completely dominated Stout 56-10 in Menomonie last Thursday night. Oshkosh racked up 535 yards of offense and seven touchdowns of at least 25 yards in the two team’s “in-conference/non-conference game at Don and Nona Williams Stadium.

• UW-Stevens Point ran its record to 2 & 1 on the season with a 14-3 non-conference win at Albion (Michigan).

• Coming up on Saturday will be the first full weekend of conference games.
