The Warhawk begin another journey Saturday afternoon by opening the season vs. Adrian College (Michigan) in a 12-Noon kickoff at Perkins Stadium.
The UW-Whitewater football program enters the season ranked No. 1 in the nation in the D3football.com Preseason Top 25. The Hawks are also coming off it's second NCAA Division III Championship in the past three years.
The seniors off last year's championship team will be back on campus Satuday, and will be honored in a special pregame ceremony.
During the Warhawks run of five consecutive WIAC Championship and five straight national title games vs. Mount Union, the focus is always look ahead - not back. Saturday's ceremony will be conducted prior to the game with the Warhawk players and coaches still in the Student Athletic Complex.
For Warhawk fans, it is a chance to honor the 2009 National Champs one more time before focusing on a record sixth consecutive WIAC Title.
