8,040 per game at the Perk: Thank you Warhawk fans!
The UW-Whitewater football team opens defense of its 2010 NCAA Division III championship on Saturday.
UW-Whitewater football has already secured one championship already this season!
Saturday’s crowd of 6,237 at Perkins Stadium allowed UW-Whitewater to secure the 2011 NCAA Division III regular season football attendance title.
Whitewater’s cumulative attendance this season was 40,199 which translates into an average of 8,040 for each of UWW’s five home games in 2011.
According to official NCAA Division III statistics – Hampden-Sydney College (Virginia) ends the regular season ranked 2nd at 7,997 per game.
St. Johns (Minnesota) finished the season ranked 3rd with a per game average of 7,699 for each of the Johnnies six home games.
St. Johns has dominated the lead in Division III attendance in recent years. The Johnnies had led Division III regular season attendance for the past 10 years – and 14 of the previous 17 years.
