The motto of UW-Whitewater football is Powered by Tradition. All former UWW football players are invited back to campus the weekend of September 27 and 28 to participate in the inaugural UW-Whitewater Football Alumni Weekend Celebration.
Returning players will be asked to gather on the field for a special halftime celebration.
What is the tradition of Warhawk Football? How about 32 WSUC/WAC conference championships, 77 All-Americans and 384 (some multi-year) All-Conference players that played for the purple and white (in recent years also back). Each year will mark anniversaries of designated conference championship teams.
Each year will mark anniversaries of designated conference championship teams. On behalf of the UWW football program and Athletic Department we invite all football alumni back to campus for the first official Football Alumni Weekend.
This year's event will celebrate the WSUC/WIAC Championship teams from 1978, 1988, 1998, and 2008. A fun weekend of events is planned.
The weekend's events include:
Friday, September 27
12:00 pm: Golf at Whitewater Country Club/p>
5:30 pm: Dinner/Banquet at Randy's including a Championship Celebration
Saturday, September 28
10:00 am: Football Alumni Brunch at James Connor University Center followed by pregame social/tailgate at Coulthart Pavillion adjacent to Perkins Stadium
1:00 pm: Warhawks vs. Waldorf game at Perkins Stadium
This weekend will provide an excellent opportunity for you to connect with former teammates and coaches and celebrate UW-Whitewater Football's successful history.
What is the old saying? Once a Warhawk, Always a Warhawk!
You are truly the POWER behind our TRADITION and we hope you will able to be back on campus to be part of the celebration September 27 and 28.
