Donations still being sought for Cure 54 Fundraiser to assist Art Gutierrez's battle with cancer

Hey Warhawk Nation, there is still time to donate auction items to the Cure 54 Foundation Fundraiser on August 12th at the New Ale House in New Berlin. Proceeds from the event will go directly into a fund for former UW-Whitewater student-athlete Art Gutierrez. The Milwaukee native played linebacker on the Wahawks 1997 and 1998 WIAC championship teams. Art earned 1st Team All-Conference recognition in 1998, his senior season.

The former U-Dub-Dub linebacker is currently waging the biggest battle of his life -the battle against cancer.

The fundraising effort is being organized by a group of Art’s UW-Whitewater teammates and they are seeking auction and raffle items for the August 12th fundraiser at the New Ale House.

The Cure 54 facebook page Thursday indicated the following items that have already been donated to the cause: AJ Hawk Signed Jersey, 8X10 signed Greg Jennings picture, 2 tickets to a Green Bay Packers home game (Great Seats), 4-pack of tickets to a Milwaukee Brewers game (3rd row seats!), Merrill Hills Golf Package, Bar Style Dart board, and many other items.

Here is a shout-out to former UW-Whitewater student-athletes that are now out in the real world as part of the business world.

Please consider donating items to the August 12th raffle-auction so that we can do our part in assisting Art in his battle with cancer.
