Titans take another giant step in improving its football program

(In the above photo - a panoramic view of the largest Uw-Oshkosh football crowd at Titan Stadium since 1998)

Props to those that attended Saturday’s WIAC first place showdown game between UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.

Saturday’s announced crowd of 3,863 is UWO’s largest crowd since 1998.

The crowd was outstanding considering UWO had drawn just 949 to its previous home game on October 1st against UW-River Falls. The Titans drew 1233 to its season opener vs. Central Iowa.

With the Titans playing winning football and ranked No. 20 in the nation by D3football.com, if you were at the game you could feel genuine excitement by Titan fans.

With a large amount of game-week publicity Saturday’s first place showdown in the WIAC had a palatable “playoff feel” to it.

It is just another step in Oshkosh head coach Pat Cerroni’s plan to develop the Titans into a championship caliber program.

Despite suffering a heartbreaking 20-17 loss to Whitewater Saturday, the Titans took another step in improving its program. It is very refreshing.
