First look at Franklin College Grizzlies
Here's a capsule look at Franklin College (Indiana), UW-Whitewater's Week-One Division III Playoff Opponent
Franklin College captured the Victory Bell trophy, its third Heartland Conference outright football championship in four years and its third automatic bid to next week’s NCAA Division III playoffs in a 48-25 decision over arch rival Hanover College.
The Grizzlies finished their HCAC schedule with an unblemished 8-0 mark and improved to 9-1 overall. FC, ranked 24th in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll and rated 21st by the AFCA
Quarterback quarterback Kyle Ray leads the way for Hanover. The senior signal-caller completed 34 of 41 passes for 361 yards and five touchdowns and ran for a score in the Grizzlies high scoring victory on Saturday.
The Heartland Conference champion Grizzlies (9-1 overall) – making their third appearance (in four years) in the NCAA playoffs with an automatic bid since becoming affiliated with Division III in 1992 – are a No. 7 seed and will travel to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (10-0) on Saturday, Nov. 20.
Franklin is located just south of Indianapolis, Indiana on I-65.
