Saturday's WIAC football roundup


UW-Whitewater 34, UW_Platteville 14:
- Levell Coppage ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns to lead top-ranked UW-Whitewater to a 34-14 victory over visiting UW-Platteville Saturday in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.

The teams played to a 14-14 tie in the first half. The Pioneers (3-2, 1-1) had two drives end on fourth down to start the third quarter and the Warhawks (4-0, 1-0) proceeded to reel off 20 unanswered points.

Coppage broke free for a 41-yard touchdown run with 9 minutes, 33 seconds left to settle the issue.

UW-Eau Claire 24, UW-Stout 10:
- Austin Neu passed for 349 yards and two touchdowns as the visiting Blugolds (3-1, 1-0 WIAC) defeated the Blue Devils (2-2, 0-1) to capture the I-94 Battle Trophy for the first time.

UW-Oshkosh 42, UW-River Falls 7:
- Nate Warra threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns to spark the host Titans (3-1, 1-0) in a romp past the Falcons (0-4, 0-1).

Warra now has 41 career scoring strikes - the third highest total in Oshkosh history.

UW-La Crosse 31, UW-Stevens Point 28:
- Jason Huinker booted an 18-yard field goal with one second left to give the host Eagles a victory over the Pointers.

La Crosse (1-3, 1-1) scored 17 points in the final 9:46 to sink the Pointers (2-2, 0-1).
