Adrian College bounces back nicely following loss at Whitewater


In Adrian's season opener at UW-Whitewater, the Warhawk's defense limited the Trojans to 162 yards, including 74 yards on 41 rushing attempts, a 1.8 yard per carry average.

Adrian College bounced back nicely Saturday with a 40-14 victory over Defiance College (Ohio).

Jared Edwards rushed for a career-high 208 yards as the Adrian offense rushed for 385 yards on 47 carries (8.2 average). Adrian again had Justin Hemm and Mike McGee rotate at QB. Hemm, the first quarterback to play vs. UWW rushed for a career-high 138 yards.

The Bulldogs had more total yards in the first quarter (167) than in last week’s loss at Whitewater (162).

Defiance was picked to finish seventh this season in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
