Gameday at the Perk is No. 1 in the WIAC

Attending a UW-Whitewater football game at Perkins Stadium certainly does not take a backseat to gameday at big brother Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

I find it amazing how popular pre and post-game tailgating is in the Perkins Stadium and Williams Center parking lots on game day.

In the adjacent photo, even Tom Coe (seated on the right in all black) feels right at home at a Warhawk football tailgate. The former Whitewater newspaper scribe drives a red SUV with Badger sticker on the back - but still has great allegiance to Warhawk football. Plus he throws a magnificent tailgate and its not somewhere behind a building off Park Street in Madison. We treat him well on Warhawk Football Saturdays!!!

At last Saturday's season-opener over 6000, fans were in the Perk to witness the unvieling of UW-Whitewater's second NCAA Division III championship flag in the last three seasons.

Look down on the crowd from the KOOL 106.5 press box seats it looked like a sea of purple.

The student members of Purple Reign located behind the UW-W bench added color and atmosphere in the Stadium.

Dr. Glenn Hayes' Warhawk marching band is a tradition both at halftime, and following the game with its 5th quarter performance.

Willie Warhawk and Mike the Cannon Man make UW-Whitewater football at Perkins Stadium a huge favorite for the whole family!

Make your plans to gather the family and take in a UW-Whitewater home football game this season. You'll get to watch the Warhawks as they seek a 6th consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.

Once again - a Gameday Saturday at Perkins Stadium is much more than JUST a football game!
