Plenty of festivities planned for Thursday night's Whitewater at Platteville football game


The UW-Whitewater Warhawk football team opens its defense of the 2009 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title at UW-Platteville in a rare Thursday night game.

It will be Platteville Family Night at Ralph E. Davis/Pioneer Stadium with plenty of festivities surrounding the game.

There will be plenty of activities for the kids and $10 family 4-Pack food deals.

There will also be special pregame music being played on the best football field sound system in the WIAC.

The game will also be the 17th Annual George Chryst Memorial Bowl played in the memory of George Chryst who was UWP’s head coach from 1979 until his sudden death in 1992 at age 55. honor. At the urging of former coaches Jim Kinder (UWP) and Bob Berezowitz (UWW), this annual game also is dedicated in his memory. George’s widow, Patty, will present the player of the game awards at midfield. The assembled media will cast votes for offensive and defensive standouts for both teams.
