Warhawks hold first night practice of preseason

The UW-Whitewater football team held its first night practice of the preseason Wednesday evening under perfect weather conditions at Perkins Stadium.

It was the final training camp practice in just NCAA mandated shoulder pads and helmets. For the first time this week Thursday afternoon's practice will be in full pads.

Training Camp can prove to be “brain drain” especially for first year players – coaches are preaching all practice for players to do it the Warhawk way – it is a big step for the first year players in camp.

Checking in on the different position groups Wednesday evening you could hear coaches telling, especially the first year players, to do it correctly - do it the Warhawk way.

A reminder - the Warhawks will have its first scrimmage of the preseason Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Perkins Stadium vs. Harper College (Illinois).
