Good Friday morning of Stagg Bowl week, the Warhawk fan pilgrimage to Salem is underway

- Remember yesterday morning talking about the problems Virginia drivers have when it comes to snow. No problems today (Friday). Sunshine and a high temp approaching 40 today in the Roanoke Valley. When you arrive today at our team hotel (Holiday Inn Tanglewood) the U-Dub-Dub fan "festivities" will be well underway!

- Last night Warhawk fans had downtown Roanoke virtually all to themselves. Our group ate at a great bar-b-cue place. Great ribs - ummmm ribs! Tonight it will be across the street for dinner at Awful Arthurs. Can you say king crab and lobster?

- Big "ups" to Doc Hornickel for picking up my tab for dinner last night. Much appreciated!!!

- More big "ups" to our team hotel who understands that when fans are in town for a "national championship game" weekend - the Holiday Inn Tanglewood made the large contingent of U-Dub-Dub fans very "comfortable" at its get-together last night - THANK YOU!!

- Most of you already know that UW-Whitewater assistant coach Kevin Bullis is a finalist for the head coaching job at UW-River Falls. That isn't even close to being the biggest story surrounding Coach Bullis this weekend. Not only will Bullis be coaching up the defense and special teams in tomorrow's Stagg Bowl - but Saturday is the 17th wedding anniversary for Diane and Kevin. I wonder if Coach Bullis will remember his anniversary on Stagg Bowl gameday? He better!!!

- Just watched the ESPN U promo for tomorrow's UWW-UMU Stagg Bowl telecast. Now I've got my "game-face" on!

- Getting ready to head over to the Salem Civic Center for today's Spotlight on Champions What Hawk player has been chosen to speak on-stage today representing the UWW football team. My guess is Luke Hibner.

- I'll post again late this afternoon to give you a better feel from U-Dub-Dub fan headquarters.

GO HAWKS
