Weekend was great for the Warhawks, not so great for Perkins Stadium

It was a great weekend for the UW-Whitewater football team, but not so great for Perkins Stadium. Blizzard conditions late Saturday night or early Sunday morning claimed one of the four light standards at Perkins Stadium. As the attached photo shows, the lights and light pole crashed down onto the for north end of the stadium's visiting bleachers. No one was injured and the investigation of damage is still underway.

Meanwhile, Saturday afternoon in Dover, Delaware, the Warhawks defeated Wesley College 27-7 to advance to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl for a sixth consecutive year. Once again, the Warhawks will be facing the Mount Union Purple Raiders.

Whitewater is the defending national champions and has won the title two of the last three years.
