Hawks prepare to pound the rock for 60 minutes against NCC

Each Thursday practice throughout the season, the UW-Whitewater football team's offensive unit ends practice by journeying up the hillside on the southeast corner of Perkins Stadium where the Rock sits.

If tonight's (Thursday) pound the rock session is any indication of what the Warhawks' mindset is concerned - the Hawks are ready to do some gosh darn, Warhawk style pounding the rock against No. 1 seed North Central Saturday afternoon in NCAA Division III quarterfinal action.

I have witnessed a large number of pound the rock sessions over the past decade. I don't know if the team is just so fired up, or if the rock may be so cold the huge pieces of rock landed on the ground after each swing of the maul.

I sent a picture of the rock pieces to NASA tonight and they agree - the rock pieces are large enough to confuse with meteorites! (Just Kidding)

The Hawks take the pound the rock very seriously and are ready to get the Warhawk rushing game in high gear for 60 minutes against the Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.
